Research Direction

Shengxiong Xiao was born in Hubei, China in 1977. He completed his undergraduate studies at Wuhan University, China in 1999, and received his M. S degree from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences under the guidance of Prof. Yuliang Li and Prof. Daoben Zhu in 2002. After that, he joined the Chemistry Department of Columbia University and received his Ph. D in 2007 with Prof. Colin Nuckolls. He was a Skaggs post-doctoral fellow with Julius Rebek, Jr. at the Scripps Research Institute from 2007 to 2009. He joined the faculty at Shanghai Normal University, China in 2013 and is appointed as an Eastern Scholar Professor of Shanghai City in 2013.

His research interests include design and synthesis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, organic semiconducting materials and their application in organic electronic and optoelectronic devices.
